This simulates a long power button press which is required to make your Xbox boot from Aladdin XT (short power button press makes it boot from TSOP). However, if you wish for your Xbox to always boot from the modchip, you can ease up the installation by soldering the 'BT' pad on the modchip to ground. Yes both d0 and BT signals on the modchip need to be properly interfaced.

I have found some pictures at for an XT plus with some confusing install pictures which look a lot more like mine but there is no reference to an XT plus2. But it is more info than what I have found.
